One of the principal issues that face a woman wanting to get a Hair Extension done is whether she should use real Human Hair or hair made out of synthetic material. It is a difficult decision to take because there are a great many advantages which pertain to both varieties. We’ll try to give you the particulars of both Human Hair and synthetic hair and hope that these will assist you to come to a conclusion about which kind of hair to use for the Hair Extension you are planning for yourself.
Let us start with synthetic or artificial hair. The first and most important point to bear in mind about this brand of hair is that it is cheaper than human hair. That is an issue which could finally tilt the scale one way or other as all of us have to take decisions about every aspect of life based on what we can afford. But don’t base your choice on cost alone because there are other points worth considering. For instance, Human Hair is heavier than synthetic hair and the weight on your head will decidedly be less if you use the latter variety. But despite this, our advice to you would be to use Human Hair and we will now tell you why.
It has been our experience that Human Hair is what unquestionably looks the most natural and lasts far longer than the synthetic variety. The principal reason for this is that Human Hair of the Remy variety retains the cuticles which are present on every shaft of hair on humans. These cuticles are what help your hair align in the same direction and thereby not get tangled up. Synthetic hair does not have these cuticles and so get tangled easily. This not only presents an unnatural look but cuts short the life of the hair extension. Furthermore, these cuticles help to lock in essential moisture and protect the hair from the elements. And finally, Human Hair can be colored, set, and treated whereas you are more or less left with the same hair that you started off with in the case of synthetic hair.
India and some of the other Asian countries are where most of the Human Hair comes from. This is because some of the religious rituals in those countries require the devotees to have their heads tonsured and so a large amount of “virgin†or totally unprocessed hair comes from there. The term also indicates that the hair has not been colored, permed or straightened. And this hair is collected by tying it up to maintain the direction of the cuticle and then cutting it. This is why virgin Human Hair looks so natural and why we recommend it for the Hair Extension process.
In the final analysis, the choice is yours, but do consider all the advantages of both types of hair before deciding. Don’t make price the only criterion.
